New life for Røros
New life for Røros
In 1980 Røros was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. In 1988 the smelting shed was rebuilt after the fire and now serves as the home of The Røros Museum Trust, which was founded in 1990. Røros Museum and Historical Society and The Friends of Olav’s Mine are represented in the trust.
